This is Valerie Adam. She is going to Rio to compete in the Olympic Games. Valerie competes for Pakuranga Athletic Club has been coached by Jean-Pierre Egger since 2010. She has been a shot putter for the New Zealand team. In 2009 to 2014 she was ranked the 1st in the world, Wow!.

Valerie Adams is a great choice for this activity, Jane. She is arguably one of New Zealand's most famous Olympic athletes having won two previous gold medals. I really hope that she is able to repeat her performance this year in Rio and bring home a third gold medal. That would be pretty amazing, wouldn't it?
