1. What is Matariki and when does it start?
Matariki is the Maori new year .
2. What are the signs that Matariki is here?
It appears in late May or early June.
3. What does Matariki mean and what are some other names for Matariki?
It means to makes plans for the future and another name is the seven sisters.
4. What are some of the stories of Matariki?
The biggest star is the eldest sister and she guides them to their places in the sky.
5. How is Matariki celebrated?
It a time to plant trees and winter crops.
6. Matariki is a time for.....
It is a time for hearing stories of the old days ,for learning about how people used the stars in the past.
